Jaides Stage
Studios are delighted to introduce and announce Emma Dawes,
a highly experienced and
qualified 'dramatic arts tutor'. Emma will work and
train students in the musical theatre group and also prepare
their next stage production in July '08.
Priscilla
Morris, who is a member of the Society of Teachers of Speech
& Drama recommended Emma. Priscilla recognised the
essential requirement that Jaides Stage Studios needed
to maintain their high standards and Emma, her former and
star pupil was an ideal candidate for the position to
introduce her skills.
Priscilla
Morris is also a member of the board for LAMDA and has
worked in Bermuda, Sri Lanka, Singapore & Hong Kong and
has directed over 30 productions for youth & adult
theatre as well as running workshops for Carlton Television.
Emma has
studied with Priscilla for the past 5 years and her passion
for drama led her to appear in staring roles at the Herrick
& Haymarket Theatres. She also currently teaches
at the Hinckley Speech & Drama Studios & The Nickie
Sheridan Musical Theatre Academy as well as running
her own theatre workshops in Leicester.
Students
will learn to develop oral communication and performance
skills incorporating reading, acting, stage direction,
theatre design and stage makeup, group awareness &
speech tuition whilst developing their confidence and
potential. They will also have the opportunities to
perform on a professional stage set and will be guided
towards the acting profession and offered examination
programmes to Diploma level if they desire together with
auditioning and castings for professional theatre
productions.
Sandra
Ellery, Administrator & Marketing Executive for
Jaides Stage Studios, explained, "To meet someone as
professional and sincere in her work as Priscilla, was
the best thing to have happened to us, especially as they do
not come any higher. For Priscilla to recommend her
star pupil to teach our musical theatre students is yet
another honour for us and indeed some fantastic productions,
but Emma will nurture their talents even further and develop
their full potential to produce the very best yet! Emma will
be introducing a 'Summer Workshop' from Wednesday 8th August
- Friday 10th August inclusive and working towards Roald
Dahl's 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' for a
performance to show the parents at the end.
If anyone is
interested in joining the theatre group or the Summer
Workshop, they should contact Sandra 01788 562729
